
Logopedics
Derived from the combination of the Ancient Greek words lógos (speech, word, reason) and paideíā (education), logopedics is the study of a person's communication abilities and difficulities.
This includes areas such as:
Receptive language
(ability to undersstand others)Expresssive language
(ability to communicate to others)Social communication
Cognitive communication
(attention, memory, and/or emotional impacts on communication)
Head and Neck Therapy
Head and Neck Therapy is the study of a person's head and neck anatomy (structures) and physiology (functions) to determine abilities and difficulties.
This includes areas such as:
Speech
(the movement of the mouth)Voice
(Breath support, pitch, resonance)Swallowing
(Eating, drinking, and oral medications)
